HANNA BARBERA CARTOONS EXTREMELY RARE + OTHERS

THE RUFF & REDDY SHOW HANNA BARBARA 1ST CARTOON SERIES 78 EPISODES 1957 VERY RARE

$30.00

The Ruff & Reddy Show was Hanna-Barbera's first cartoon series which featured a cat (Ruff) and dog (Reddy) in serialized adventures, with thirteen episodes comprising a story arc. Ruff, was voiced by Don Messick, and Reddy was voiced by Daws Butler. Hanna and Barbera opened their cartoon studio the same year MGM (the studio they worked for) closed down its cartoon studio. After much effort, they were able to sell Ruff & Reddy to NBC, but they were only able to get $2700 per half hour of cartoon show, so all the meticulous detail into making the Tom and Jerry shorts were eschewed for a production-line process. Bill and Joe, taking a cue from 1949's "Crusader Rabbit," reasoned the best way to offset the low production values was to create appealing heroes and captivating storylines.

MIGHTY MOUSE ANIMATED CARTOON SERIES DVD SET

The ORIGINAL TERRYTOONS Series
COMPLETE 65 EPISODES on a 3 DVD set

Mighty Mouse originally had a blue costume with a red cape, like Superman, but over time this outfit changed to a yellow costume with a red cape. As with other imitations of Superman, Mighty Mouse's super powers allow him to fly and to be incredibly strong; in short, to be invulnerable. He has demonstrated the use of "X-ray vision" in at least one episode, while during several cartoons he used a form of telekinesis that allowed him to command inanimate objects and turn back time (as in the cartoons The Johnstown Flood and Krakatoa). Other cartoons have him leaving a red contrail during flight which he can manipulate like a band of solid flexible matter at will. The initial formula consisted of an extended setup of a crisis which needs extraordinary help to resolve; Mighty Mouse appears to save the day.

Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy Complete 45 Episodes Kids Classic Cartoon DVD Set 1959-62

$30.00

The segments centered around the misadventures of a dachshund father-and-son team. Doggie Daddy (voiced by Doug Young) tried to do the best he could at raising his rambunctious son Augie (voiced by Daws Butler). Augie, who loved his father, would often refer to him as "dear old Dad." Their mutual admiration included Daddy gently chiding, "Augie, my son, my son", when he would disappoint his father; and when his son would say or do something that inspired pride, Daddy would turn to the audience and say with a grin, "Dat's my boy who said dat!"

The segments and characters were similar to the Spike and Tyke cartoons William Hanna and Joseph Barbera produced during their theatrical animation careers at MGM in the 1940s and 1950s.[1]

BARNEY BEAR COMPLETE 26 EPISODES DVD SET EXTREMELY RARE CARTOON 1939-54

$30.00

Barney Bear is an American series of animated cartoon short subjects produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio. The title character is an anthropomorphic cartoon character, a sluggish, sleepy bear who often is in pursuit of nothing but peace and quiet.

The character was created for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer by director Rudolf Ising, who based the bear's grumpy yet pleasant disposition on his own and derived many of his mannerisms from the screen actor Wallace Beery. The character was voiced by Rudolf Ising from 1939 to 1941, Pinto Colvig in 1941, Billy Bletcher from 1944 to 1948, Paul Frees from 1952 until 1954, Lou Scheimer in 1980, and Richard McGonagle from 2012 to 2013. Barney Bear made his first appearance in The Bear That Couldn't Sleep in 1939, and by 1941 was the star of his own series, getting an Oscar nomination for the 1941 short The Rookie Bear. Ising left the studio in 1943.

DEPUTY DAWG CARTOONS 5 DVD set ALL 104 eps. TERRYTOONS 1962-63

$30.00

DEPUTY DAWG The COMPLETE 104 CARTOONS on a 5 DVD set

Deputy Dawg is a dim witted Southern lawman dog, who despite his own ineptitude, always manages to catch the bad guy. The character of Deputy Dawg was a deputy sheriff in the Mississippi Bayou. The other main characters were the 'varmints' Muskie Muskrat, Ty Coon and Vincent van Gopher, and Dawg's boss the Sheriff, as well as Mrs. Deputy. Much of the comedy was sight gag/action based with some focused around comical accents and stereotypical southern characteristics. Deputy Dawg was voiced by Dayton Allen, a prolific Hollywood voice actor who voiced many Terrytoons characters in television and theatrical shorts in the '50s and '60s.

These outrageous magpies were the stars of Terrytoons galaxy of cartoon line-up of Saturday Morning and Sunday Morning shows which featured also in the category Mighty Mouse, Deputy Dawg and so many more that were featured during the late-1950's and well into the 1960's and the early 1970's (which originally ran on CBS-TV from 1956-1972), and was sponsored by General Mills cereals. As for the birds themselves, you had a smart aleck New York bird, and a proper speaking British one who were always getting into all sorts of trouble, and it was hilariously funny especially with the birds getting into mischief. A must see to what they will do next.

HERMAN & KATNIP COMPLETE KIDS CARTOON 2 DVD SET 1944

$30.00

Herman and Katnip are a duo of cartoon characters (Herman the mouse and Katnip the cat). From 1944 to September 1950, Herman appeared without Katnip, who made his first appearance in November 1949 with Mice Meeting You. The two characters continued to star in animated cartoons by Famous Studios until 1959. Their cartoon series, which was distributed by Paramount Pictures, together is essentially a clone of MGM's Tom and Jerry. The key difference is that, regardless of who personified good or evil (with Katnip being the latter on almost all occasions), Herman always came out on top against Katnip, while Tom won his fair share of comic battles against Jerry.[citation needed] However, Katnip rarely had trouble forcing Herman to pay in some manner for his victories. Arnold Stang voiced Herman while Sid Raymond voiced Katnip

PIXIE AND DIXIE AND MR JINKS COMPLETE 57 EPISODES VERY RARE DVD SET 1958

$30.00

Pixie and Dixie and Mr. Jinks is also remembered for Mr. Jinks' rhyming but ungrammatical lament, "I hate those meeces to pieces!".

For the first nine episodes, the show featured a theme song with lyrics but from then on switched to theme tunes.

As with Huckleberry Hound, Mr. Jinks would frequently talk directly to the audience, and discuss his plans to trap the "meeces".

It stars two cute and cuddly twin mice children, the bowtied Pixie (voiced by Don Messick) and the vested Dixie (voiced by Daws Butler with a Southern American accent) and Mr. Jinks the Cat (voiced by Daws Butler impersonating Marlon Brando). Mr Jinks is an orange tuxedo cat[2][3] who is always outfoxed by the mice, causing him to utter his trademark line "I hates those meeces to pieces!" The show's plot itself and its characters were extremely similar to Hanna and Barbera's earlier, yet better-known creation, Tom and Jerry. The difference between these two cartoons were that the episodes of this segment always featured two mice instead of one like in Tom and Jerry, and the main characters always spoke, whereas Tom and Jerry were generally mute.

BEANY & CECIL 84 EPISODES 4 DVD SET EXTREMELY RARE CARTOON 1959-62

$30.00

Rare Old School Cartoon, Beany & Cecil.
This 4 DVD set includes 84 episodes /w Menus, By far the best collection on the net.

Beany And Cecil is an animated television series created by Bob Clampett for the American Broadcasting Company. The cartoon was based on the television puppet show Time for Beany, which Clampett produced for Paramount Pictures company and its Paramount Television Network beginning 1949. The series was broadcast first as part of the series Matty's Funday Funnies during 1959, later renamed Matty's Funnies with Beany and Cecil, and finally Beany and Cecil in the USA. Another season was produced during 1988.

Although a children's show, it incorporated satirical references to current events and personalities which adults found entertaining, and the show also attracted adult viewers. Some of the plots and remarks were recognisable as lampoons of current political issues.

Along with The Jetsons and The Flintstones, it was one of the first three color television series by the ABC television network (the initial season, though, was originally shown in black and white, as ABC was unable to broadcast color programs until September 1962).

CLUTCH CARGO COMPLETE 57 EPISODES CARTOON 10 DVD SET 1959-61 EXTREMELY RARE SHOW

$30.00

Clutch Cargo is an animated television series produced by Cambria Productions and syndicated beginning on March 9, 1959. The series was notable for its very limited animation yet imaginative stories; it was a surprise hit at the time, and could be seen on 65 stations nationwide in 1960.

The stories centered on Clutch Cargo (voiced by radio actor Richard Cotting), described[by whom?] as "a writer and pilot with a muscular build, a white flat-top hair cut and rugged good looks".[citation needed] As was typical of adventure serials, Clutch Cargo was sent around the world on dangerous assignments. Accompanying him on the assignments were his young ward Spinner and his pet dachshund Paddlefoot. Actress Margaret Kerry, who provided the look, style, and movement of Tinker Bell in the 1953 Walt Disney Studios production of Peter Pan, provided both the voices and lips of Spinner and Paddlefoot. Live-action footage of an airplane was used as well, specifically that of a rare 1929 Bellanca C-27 Airbus. The attention to detail shown to the aircraft in the series is no doubt due to the fact that creator of the series, Clark Haas, was a pioneer jet pilot.[1]

Hal Smith was the voice of Clutch's grizzled, pith-helmeted friend Swampy, as well as numerous other characters. He also voiced Owl in Disney's Winnie the Pooh series and played Otis Campbell on The Andy Griffith Show.

In all, 52 Clutch Cargo adventures were produced and then serialized in five five-minute chapters each. The first four chapters naturally ended in cliffhangers, with the fifth chapter concluding the adventure. Haas explained the format of the show: "Each story is done in five five-minute segments so the stations can run one a day on weekdays, then recap the whole for a half-hour Saturday show. It's flexible and works very well.
